The Chwezi Story


The Name

The name "Chwezi" draws from the Chwezi Empire — one of East Africa's most advanced ancient civilisations, renowned for their sophistication in governance, infrastructure, and organisation. That legacy of building enduring, well-engineered systems is the foundation on which Chwezi Core Systems was established.

The Problem

Peter Bamuhigire founded Chwezi after years of observing a persistent problem across African organisations: fragmented technology. Businesses were juggling separate vendors for software, networking, security, and consulting — often with poor coordination between them.

International firms offered expertise but at prices that excluded most local organisations, and without genuine understanding of the East African operating environment. Meanwhile, cheaper local providers frequently cut corners, leaving clients with unreliable systems and no long-term support.

The Solution

Chwezi was built to solve this. One partner. Three integrated disciplines — Technology, Business, and Security. Deep technical expertise combined with practical business understanding and a security-first mindset. Incorporated in Uganda as Chwezi Core Systems Limited on 21 December 2025, the company serves organisations across the African continent and beyond — held to international standards.
